Commercial investment in this work will allow for alternative sugars, biopolymers or other product opportunities from genetically modified sugarcane. The investment will also lead to new IP and testing of third party IP in sugarcane where appropriate commercial arrangements are in place.

The CRC is investigating biorefinery options including biocatalysts to develop new products from sugarcane and its downstream products. Significant commercial involvement will ensure progress towards pilot scale evaluation by project end.
