Commercialisation

The CRC has three broad commercial objectives. They are to:

  • develop CRC R&D projects to commercial ready status as appropriate for the particular technology
  • develop licensing opportunities with national and international entities to create value from CRC IP
  • position the CRC so it can lever the benefits of access to global investment markets to develop Australian research and industry.

At this stage and long-term, the CRC is focused on generating and accumulating IP that will foster licences and spin-off companies. Licence arrangements are already in the pipeline with large commercial entities able to provide a path to market for products and technologies created by the CRC.

We have several international links, some developing into active collaborations, others forming the basis of future opportunities. Global interest in alternative forms of carbon and growing interest in the carbohydrate economy are providing introductions to a range of international, commercial and research groups. Emerging or established links are also being made with bio-based materials sector companies.
